JOSÉ LUIS BUENO CARDEÑOSA
- Principal Artistic Director of the Getafe Concert Band since 2019
Born in Tarancón (Cuenca), he began his musical training under the influence of his father, an amateur musician, studying euphonium and trombone simultaneously. He completed his higher studies with top marks in both specialities at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid, where he currently serves as a professor.
His professional career began as a trombonist in the Municipal Band of Jaén (2005–2009), and he later joined the Conservatory Professors Corps of the Community of Madrid (2010), teaching at the Teresa Berganza and Victoria de los Ángeles conservatories.
As a conductor, he has completed various training courses with renowned maestros, culminating in a Master’s Degree in Orchestral Conducting from Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio under the guidance of Miguel Romea and Andrés Salado.
He served as Principal Conductor of the Morata de Tajuña Concert Band (2011–2019) and, since 2019, has been the Musical Director of the Getafe Concert Band (BMG).
He has performed in major venues such as the Symphony Hall and Chamber Hall of the National Auditorium of Madrid, the Mozart Hall of the Zaragoza Auditorium, Teatros del Canal, Teatro Romea (Murcia), Teatro Principal, Gran Teatro Antonio Ferrandis, Palau de la Música and Palau de les Arts (Valencia), and the Cuenca Auditorium, among others.
A highlight of his career is his work as Musical Director of the Verum Symphony Orchestra in Pinoxxio, a production by Ananda Dansa awarded seven MAX Awards in 2016, including Best Musical Composition.
He has been invited to conduct ensembles such as the New York Youth Symphony, Proyecto X Orchestra, Asociación Musical Moteña (AMM), Madrid Brass Band, and in 2023 he made his debut as guest conductor with the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra (OFM).
In 2024, together with maestro Miguel Romea, he founded FIDOE (Spanish International Forum for Orchestral Conducting), a platform dedicated to excellence and training for conductors at national and international levels.
He currently combines his teaching activity at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid (RCSMM) with an intense artistic career as conductor and pedagogue.
