Francisco Aguado Martí
Artistic Director 1984/2019
The Getafe Concert Band wishes to acknowledge the exemplary work carried out by its director for more than three decades, Francisco Aguado Martí, whose dedication from 1984 to 2019 decisively shaped the identity, growth, and artistic projection of the ensemble.
Under his leadership, the band evolved from a group of local amateur musicians and young students into a solid, stable, and widely recognized musical institution both within and beyond our community. His constant work drove the continuous improvement of the band’s sound, artistic quality, and professionalization, consolidating concerts, cycles, and collaborations that today form an essential part of our activity.
During these 35 years, the band participated in national and international competitions, recordings, and prestigious festivals, bringing the name of Getafe to stages such as the Palau de la Música de Valencia, the Valencia International Contest, the World Music Contest in Kerkrade, and MidEurope in Schladming.
Each of these milestones was made possible thanks to a clear vision: to grow, to learn, and to elevate the musical level at every stage.
His legacy is not measured only in awards or performances, but in the work ethic, the spirit of improvement, and the commitment to music that he instilled in every musician who passed through the band.
For this reason, in 2019 he was named Honorary Director, a recognition of a career marked by dedication, perseverance, and a profound love for music and for Getafe.
Today, the Getafe Concert Band continues to move forward on the foundations he helped build, keeping alive that drive for continuous improvement that defined his leadership for so many years.
